The Partys Over -- Until Next Year! By Fleet Captain Ed Rosenthal |
Sigh! I woke up today and it was 35 degrees. I guess there is an end to the season. I'm just not there yet! So, just a few final notes on Rock Hall. From what I recall, everyone enjoyed the Fall Fest. Just like I planned it, sort of. Again I want thank all the people who pitched in to make this a success. The fleet really showed their support, and that is what makes the events. The Change of Watch Dinner was also very well attended. I certainly appreciate everyone coming out -- of course, you had to get your awards. Funny how that works. I had more fun than any Fleet Captain should. Thanks to all for the gifts. I was certainly surprised.
I do want to make a special note to the Immediate Past Commodore. The early mornings getting this or that, and the late afternoons (not to mention some evenings) made my first Bridge experience one that certainly made a lasting impression. Couldnt find slips, doors didnt open, food needed prepping, trolleys broke down and the list goes on... She was always there -- sometimes before me! I think we had fun even in the questionable situations. Secondly, Laura Frey was very instrumental with most of my administrative duties, and I cannot thank her enough. Now, Moonshine Marvin -- thats another story... I want to encourage members to come forward to join the Board and add their dimension to the fun. The support from everyone will make it worth the extra time commitment. I must say that, when the events are over and someone says, Hey that was fun, it makes it all very worth while. Enough of the past. So, here I go again. Could not do everything this past year, so I will finish what I started next year. Stay tuned for details. Finally, I want to thank those who showed up for my private party. That will not be the last one. I have been searching for bands for next year. It's hard work, going from town to town, bar to bar, night after night, but the sacrifice is well worth the reward. If you believe that, I have waterfront property for sale in Florida. Until next time, see ya!
